Membership Update. As of July 1, 2023, we have revised our approach towards membership to consider all individuals living within the boundaries the RCA to be members and represented by the RCA. The RCA is a 100% volunteer organization and depends on neighborhood support for its operations. Donate to RCA!

Next Meeting. The RCA’s next meeting will be on Wednesday, September 20 at 7pm at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 100 West Luray Avenue.  The City is expected to release the specifics of its “Zoning for Housing” zoning proposal on September 5, so a review of it from the PELT committee is planned.  (See https://www.alexandriava.gov/news-citywide/2023-08-24/alexandria-city-council-announces-schedule-for-resident-engagement-and.)  We also will be joined by Kim Neal, the City’s Independent Policing Auditor, and Mike Razak, the City’s Marcus Alert Coordinator (for behavioral health crises) to discuss their work.

Ting Food Truck. As reported at the last meeting, Ting is installing fiber and rolling out Internet service across Alexandria .  Ting is planning to hold a community food truck event for Rosemont on Wednesday, September 27, 6-8pm, at the Commonwealth Baptist Church, 700 Commonwealth Avenue. We will provide more details when available.
