RCA-Updates-Graphic
As always, please share these updates with neighbors who may not be receiving the information (and let us know if email addresses need to be updated, etc.).

Next Meeting. Our next meeting will be on Thursday, March 22, at the Commonwealth Baptist Church (700 Commonwealth Avenue) at 7:30pm. Our guests will be State Senator Adam Ebbin, Rosemont’s representative in the Virginia Senate, and State Delegate Mark Levine, Rosemont’s representative in the Virginia House of Delegates. As you may know, Virginia’s 2018 legislative session ends in early March, so we will be provided an update on developments in Richmond, of concern in Alexandria and statewide. We hope to see you there – please come with questions!

Fourth of July. We would like to resume holding our traditional holiday event, now that the Maury School’s playground renovation is complete, but will need volunteers to help organize it – if you’re interested, please let us know, so we can start the planning process.

Rosemont Profiled in the Post. For the first time in twenty years, Rosemont has been profiled in the Post’s “Where We Live” column (although, unfortunately, the neighborhood map is not quite right). Accessible online at https://www.washingtonpost.com/realestate/history-and-families-have-deep-roots-in-alexandrias-rosemont-neighborhood/2018/02/13/d3904758-0aa8-11e8-8b0d-891602206fb7_story.html.

Future Metro Closures. Some notable closures later in the year that will affect Rosemont are scheduled to include a closure of the Blue and yellow Line between Braddock Road and Pentagon City on November 2-5, and the closure of the yellow Line bridge across the Potomac between November 26 and December 9. Please visit https://www.wmata.com/service/track-work.cfm for more information.

Keeping Informed.  We try to provide regular updates on local news, Rosemont history, and general happenings in Alexandria via our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/RosemontCitizensiation/), cross-posted to Twitter (https://twitter.com/RosemontCitizen) and our web page (http://RosemontCitizens.org/facebook/). Please consider following one or another (as well as the Rosemont email list, https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/rosemontva/info).
