Fourth of July – Final Call. We would like to resume holding our traditional holiday event, now that the Maury School’s playground renovation is complete, but it can only happen if there are volunteers to help organize it – if you’re interested, please let us know ASAP, or else it isn’t going to happen.
Next Meeting. Please mark your calendar for Thursday, June 21, for the next RCA meeting (7:30pm, at the Commonwealth Baptist Church, 700 Commonwealth Avenue). We will be joined by Rachael Moxley, a City Engineer, for a briefing on the City’s new Stormwater Utility Fee; starting this spring, it is a new line item on real estate bills (typically $70, twice annually), to fund the increasing costs of state and federal Chesapeake Bay protection mandates. One of the pending issues is how the City can offer credits for residences that reduce their runoff impact. For more information about the fee generally, please visit https://www.alexandriava.gov/tes/stormwater/info/default.aspx?id=93591.
